Resources for Teaching an Introduction to Hebrew Bible/Old TestamentThe aim of these resources is to provide an academic introduction to the traditions of the Hebrew Bible and diverse readings of it amidst structures of domination, survival and liberation.
The textbook that I use to teach the course (and replace my own lectures) is my introduction to the Hebrew Bible (pictured to the right): The Hebrew Bible: A Contemporary Introduction to the Christian Old Testament and Jewish Tanakh published by Wiley Blackwell in 2021, and some of the resources below are specific to that textbook. Other resources, however, may be useful for people using other textbooks, such as the interviews about methodologies with leading biblical scholars or overviews of basic sources in Genesis 1-11. |
